Crossing the Border

Since Aurora we have been traveling non-stop with two gigs on some days! We've had the opportunity to perform at a few high schools around the Midwest, with some very well behaved and engaged kids. We even had a song request at our show at Luther High in Onalaska! It's fun to introduce some of the kids to new instruments, or new ways to play old instruments, and I've been very excited to see a few young bassoonists in their midst.

We're very happy to have brought our own sound system this time around. Even though it takes extra time to set up, we are able to control the sound a lot easier, even with any quirks our system has. Besides, we have become very good roadies for our show, and many people have lent us helping hands, lugging heavy gear to our car without any complaints. To them we are very, very thankful.

Tonight we are relaxing in beautiful Redwood Falls, Minnesota after a lovely concert. Pastor Miller and his wife have been so kind to us, and tonight we sleep with bellies full of ice cream (and a brand new skirt--perhaps I'll post a photo or two later), not to mention the snacks and puzzles from the Sachs!

Tomorrow we head out to St. Cloud, where we will see some family, play a show (6:30p), and where I will run...18 miles. If you hadn't heard, I'm training for my first marathon, which will take place on June 2nd. I've been right on schedule so far so 18 miles should be just fine. But prayers would be appreciated :)
