Two high school shows, one evening show, hours of driving, and I'm sitting in a hotel room in Flagstaff, Arizona, some 7,000 feet from sea level. I can't believe that tomorrow is our last show of the tour. I've gotten used to the travel, the playing every night, the new people--I really love it. It feels right.
Tomorrow we are going to visit the Grand Canyon. I've never been there before, and Jonathon insists that I must see it. There is a story about Anthony Hopkins, after he made the movie "The Remains of the Day" a reporter asked him what had happened to his acting style since his last movie, because "Remains" he was so good, a different actor. Hopkins said he went to the Grand Canyon, and when he saw it he thought, "What's the point?" In other words, he looked at the Grand Canyon and realized that there is something greater than acting, or then what he does in his life, and that gave him a great freedom. So we'll see if that happens to me :)
Tomorrow night is our last concert in Las Vegas with fellow musician and brother-in-law, Stephen Bautista. Excited for the last hurrah....
