Pop-Up Curator Concert - 6/7/2012

That's right, one of the few shows you can go to and come home with a commission: someone will get $100 bucks. Learn all the details here... Beautiful vocal harmonies, intricate piano, accordion, ukulele and Boris the Bassoon come together for NYC husband-wife duo, Spark & Echo. Artful arrangements and catchy tunes shine on the couple's epic quest to set the entire Bible to music, captivating barflies and churchfolk alike.

But there's more! As part of Spark and Echo Arts' mission to illuminate the Bible with new artworks covering every passage, Spark & Echo (the band) is hosting the first "Pop-Up Curator" event!  Any and every artist of any and every medium is invited to enter their name and discipline to our Pop-Up Curator at the concert, and you might be chosen for a commission!  One artist will be given a $100 honorarium to create a new work to be featured through Spark and Echo Arts. RSVP on our Facebook event and invite your friends!

On Thursday, June 7, 2012 (8pm), come to L4 Black Door - 41 Murray Street, Tribeca, NYC (Admission is $10 at the door)
  • During the concert, Jonathon and Emily will pass out a slip of paper with three passages on it and a request for contact info.
  • Pick the passage that interests you. If you'd like to share a couple of thoughts about what you'd like to create - just jot down a couple sentences for our Pop-Up Curator to review.
  • Make sure to share your name, discipline and website.
  • Our Pop-Up Curator will review the "proposals" during the concert and will announce the winner at the end. That's it!

If your entry is chosen by our Pop-Up Curator, you'll receive a commission contract with Spark and Echo Arts and will be given a $100 honorarium when the work is featured on www.sparkandecho.org as part of Spark and Echo Arts' multidisciplinary illumination project!
